Online CBT and EMDR Therapy for Wellness

The definition of Wellness is "the state of being in good health, especially as an actively pursued goal". CBT and EMDR can help you to work towards dealing with issues related to trauma, grief, anxiety, depression and stress that can be a major barrier to wellness.  There comes a time when help is needed from a professional and as an accredited therapist who works solely online through video consultation we can remove the stress of having to physically get to appointments and start your journey towards working on wellness.

Sophia Lambri-Anderson

BABCP Fully Accredited CBT Therapist and EMDR Therapist.

Working through the pandemic in an NHS setting made me realise a long term ambition to see that working online through video consultation can be just as effective as being face to face in a room. Infact many of my clients reported that they preferred not having the stress of having to find parking. I have also worked for a company for many years using type talking with excellent results. Therefore, I decided to open my own online practice.

I have 14 years experience of working in mental health starting as a volunteer in many organisations. For 10 years I have been treating clients using CBT. I started as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner in the NHS for 6 years before embarking on training as a CBT therapist. I then trained in EMDR. I have additionally engaged with training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness techniques to cater to the individual needs of the people I work with.  As BABCP accredited therapist I have to maintain my training to keep this up-to-date, to have regular supervision and it means most importantly that I continue to meet the requirements to provide good quality CBT therapy.

CBT

CBT or Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, CBT, is a talking therapy. CBT looks at how we think (our cognitions) about a situation and how this affects the way we act (our behaviour). In turn our actions can affect how we think and feel. You can watch the useful video produced by the charity Mind and click learn more.

Technical requirements

It is essential that you have a good internet connection as appointments will be conducted via ZOOM, TEAMS or other agreed format. In this way it is also essential that your device is compatible for video consultations. Note that if you are not using wifi you could incur extra data costs from your service provider, and that your connection may not be secure.
Information will be sent via email therefore if you do not want to print off documents you will need to be able to edit documents to return for your therapy sessions. Likewise, printed off documents such as diaries will need to be scanned or photographed and attached to emails.
You will need a headset with microphone and headphones they often come free with mobile phones.
You will need to be able to rest your device if you are not using a computer to show your whole upper body and have your hands free for EMDR. This will also be more comfortable for sessions in general.

Confidential space

Can you ensure you have a quiet private space for the duration of the session where we can not be overheard and that you will not be distracted?
